We’re pretty much speechless at this point, but it breaks our hearts to tell you that Kobe Bryant and as many as eight others, including his 13 year-old daughter Gianna, died in a helicopter crash in the Los Angeles suburbs.

Just two thoughts:

  1. It’s a drop of water in a huge gulf of heartbreak and shock that they must be feeling, but we know you join us in sending our condolences, prayers, and whatever else we’ve all got to his wife Vanessa, their three surviving daughters, and the families of the other crash victims.
  2. If someone so full of life, and someone with the world wrapped around his finger can leave us so quickly and unexpectedly, well, that’s a reminder that you might want to spend a lot of time with the people you love today and every day.

As you’d imagine, there’s a ton of reaction to Kobe’s passing right now, but considering everything they went through together, we’d thought we’d leave you with the words of Shaq for the moment: we’re sick right now.
