Christina Ricci has filed for divorce from her husband, James Heerdegen. Per TMZ, Ricci cites irreconcilable differences as the reason why she wants to end the relationship.

They add, “And, then there’s this … Ricci was granted an emergency protective order by cops after an altercation in which she claims James spit on her. The altercation went down exactly a week ago in her L.A. home.” James Heerdegen was not arrested after the incident, but he’s been ordered to stay away from his estranged wife.

Ricci is asking for sole legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old son. TMZ also explains that there is no prenup in the marriage, and Christina was the primary breadwinner.

Ricci and Heerdegen met in 2011 while working on Pan Am.They have been married since 2013.
