Britney Spears Teases New Song, Disses Her Family
Britney Spears is slowly getting back into music after being released from her conservatorship.
The pop star showed off her vocals and teased a new song in an Instagram post yesterday (December 22), but not without also taking a dig at her family.
“Just realized this today guys … after what my family tried to do to me three years ago … I needed to be my own cheerleader 🤷🏼♀️ !!!! God knows they weren’t …so I just read up on my self and this is what I found,” she captioned a clip of herself singing in her bathroom while wearing low-rise jeans and a purple crop top, revealing a chiseled stomach.
Spears, 40, made it clear to fans that she’s “not auditioning for anything,” but wanted to “remind my white ‘classy’ family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget !!!!”
The Princess of Pop also revealed that she has a “new song in the works … I’m gonna let you know what I mean 😉 !!!!!” but didn’t provide any further details. Spears last released music in 2016 when she dropped the Glory album.
Spears also went on to detail a few of her many career accolades in Wednesday’s social media post, including being “one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide.”
Britney has openly spoken out about her family’s involvement in the conservatorship, even claiming they deserve to be in jail for the role they played. She also vowed that she would “not perform” as long as her father Jamie Spears was in charge of her career.
