Need To Know: FCC Wants TikTok Banned, Red Rock Fee Hike?
- FCC HEAD WANTS TIK TOK APPS REMOVED…
- We’ve heard that TikTok is dangerous before, that they are this sneaky organization hell-bent on stealing all of our information and sending it to bad actors… well the FCC Commissioner says it’s true and wants Google and Apple to do something about it.
In a letter to both Apple and Google, FCC commish Brendan Carr is asking both companies to remove the social app from their respective app stores saying “TikTok is not what it appears to be on the surface. It is not just an app for sharing funny videos or memes. That’s the sheep’s clothing. At its core, TikTok functions as a sophisticated surveillance tool that harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data”. Which is frankly what most internet companies do, but this data is headed to China, which is the worry.
If they don’t remove the app by July 8th, he is asking for a statement explaining why they refuse to do so.

- VISITING RED ROCK COULD BE MORE EXPENSIVE…
- Well, the secret is out about Red Rock Canyon. After the pandemic had all of us searching for open-air seclusion, BLM is saying Red Rock Canyon has become the busiest national conservation area in the whole country, with 3,500,000 people showing up yearly. Now… they are proposing a fee hike. The new plan? Annual passes would go up from $30 to $45. There’d be new reservation fees for camping.
But, refreshingly, they are asking the public how they’d like to see the funds used to improve and maintain Red Rock. Public meetings are taking place July 6th and 7th if you want to make your voice heard.
