How To Rebuild Society… But Better
Ever look at a neighborhood and wonder what they could do if they just…started over? Maybe you’d lay out the streets different. Maybe you’d change the laws. Just, you know, mix things up a bit.
Aimee+Shawn started getting a little deep after reading the story about the Georgia Guidestones a.k.a. “America’s Stonehenge” being blown up overnight. The mysterious tourist attraction draws a lot of raised eyebrows with some saying it’s satanic, while others say it’s just an instruction manual for how to rebuild the world after the apocalypse.
The massive stone tablets have 10 instructions in 12 different languages… here they are:
- Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
- Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
- Unite humanity with a living new language.
- Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
- Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
- Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
- Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
- Balance personal rights with social duties.
- Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
- Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.
So, yeah, definitely satanic. 🙄
Anyways, Aimee+Shawn decided to try and figure out the rules we would govern a brand new world with. Aimee’s is simple enough… be nice. Not enough of it in the world and frankly, it goes a long way. Shawn on the other hand had a few very important lessons to share with this new world, most important of which is which way to hang the toilet paper (it’s hang from the front, NOT THE BACK you monster. Here, look, even the patent for the holder shows it from the front.)
