Porch Pirates Are Out Today
It’s Amazon Prime Day(S) yesterday and today! That means the thieves are going to be out and about the next few days! I have only had one package taken from my porch and it wasn’t crazy expensive but it was just as annoying because they were Mickey Mouse ears for a trip to Disney we took. How bad do you have to be to steal a kid’s Mickey Mouse ears? It was most definitely the point not so much the object that was taking. We had a caller today, Michelle who told us a story about someone stealing a computer off of her front porch. She was able to identify him and he went to jail eventually for something else!!
There are things you can do to try to prevent it:
- You can get a lock box to pick up. They have Amazon lockbox banks all over the place, I’m sure there are some close to your house.
- Get cameras, even if they are dummy cameras. Cameras can scare them from even approaching your doors.
- You can also get cameras super inexpensive they work really really well on amazon.
- Get flood lights. Lights that kick on can scare them too.
- Ask a neighbor to grab your packages for you when they get delivered.
- Have them delivered to your work.
There are always going to be bad people out there but luckily if you live in Las Vegas we are not in the top 10 for the worst porch pirates. According to Safe Wise these are the worst cities to live if you want to keep your delivered packages:
