A driver in North Las Vegas seemed to be hell-bent on breaking a top score last week, when he was busted twice within minutes for speeding down roads. Northtown police tweeted a picture of their radar gun showing that they pulled over a 36-year-old in his Camaro for driving 73 in a 35 at Lake Mead and McDaniel. One would think nearly 40 miles per hour over the speed limit should earn you a trip in a squad car, but he only got a citation for reckless driving. Only 2 minutes later, they pulled him over again, this time going 106 miles per hour in a 35. This time, he earned the trip.
TATS FOR KIDS?
Seven Tattoo Studio on Polaris near Russell has quite the offer. If you donate $50 or more worth of school supplies, they will give you a free tattoo. Just bring the supplies, a receipt showing what you paid, and you’ll get to select a pre-designed tat. Before you ask, they have a 4.7 review on Google, so that’s good. The event is this Sunday from 12-8 if you feel so inclined.
MIGHT BE TIME TO DRIVE TO PRIMM…
For whatever asinine reason, our state has been deemed undeserving of a state lottery. But if the idea of a mega jackpot gets your blood pumping, it might be a good day to drive to Primm. Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is set at $660,000,000, which, if won, would be the 9th-largest jackpot in American history. Your odds of winning? 1-in-302 million. But there comes a point where burning half a tank going to stateline becomes worth it. Maybe today is the day? By the way, Nevada is one of only 5 states where you cannot play Mega Millions. The others are Alaska, Hawaii, Utah and Alabama.
