‘Can You Feel It, Baby?’: Mark Wahlberg Buys Land In Summerlin
MARK WAHLBERG BUYS LAND IN SUMMERLIN
A big name is setting up shop in Las Vegas. The RJ is reporting that Mark Wahlberg bought 2.5 acres of land in the very swanky The Summit Club in Summerlin, which for those of us not filthy rich, is near the RC Willey off the 215. The land deal closed last week for over $15 million dollars. So if you see Marky Mark in line for ice cream at Handel’s Ice Cream, now you’ll know why.
VEGAS ON THE COME-UP
The pandemic was yet another shot at the jaw of Las Vegas, but the latest bit of data is showing that things are doing pretty well! Reid International Airport just set the all-time record for most passengers coming through in a month with nearly 4.7 million people heading in and out. That on top of news from last week that the state has recovered all jobs since pre-pandemic for a record nearly 1.5 million jobs in total. All just in time for the coming recession. Hooray.
LAS VEGAS BALLPARK HITS IT OUT OF THE PARK ONCE AGAIN
As if we didn’t know, we are lucky here in Southern Nevada, and the Las Vegas Aviators are lucky to call the Las Vegas Ballpark home. The minor league stadium was once again named the best Triple-A park in the league yesterday. This is the third time in four years they’ve gotten the honor.
MEGA MILLIONS DIDN’T HIT AGAIN
No. Seriously. No one has gotten all six numbers since April, and now this Friday’s jackpot is set at an outrageous $1,020,000,000. Yes, over a billion dollars. If you haven’t driven for a ticket yet, it’s officially hit the “it might be time to drive for a ticket” price. The biggest jackpot in history is still a ways away. That was nearly $1.6 Billion back in 2016, and it got split 3 ways. The odds of winning are still the same 1-in-302.5 million. Once again, as a brief reminder, Nevada is one of only 5 states that does not allow its citizens to buy Mega Millions tickets. So all this money is pouring into other states coughers. Sweet.
