Joey Chestnut Sets World Record At New Las Vegas Raising Canes
NEW YORK, NY - JULY 04: Joey Chestnut reacts during his introduction at the 2022 Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4, 2022 at Coney Island in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. The contest, which has happened every year since 1972, has returned in front of Nathan's Famous on Surf Avenue this year. (Photo by Kena Betancur/Getty Images)
July 27th is National Chicken Finger Day!
If you didn’t celebrate the holiday, don’t worry. Joey Chestnut consumed enough chicken fingers to make up for your lack of participation.
At the brand new Raising Canes on the Las Vegas Strip, Chestnut set out on a quest to achieve a new world record. Of course he did! He’s literally the greatest eater of all time. We’d expect nothing less from the fifteen-time hot dog eating champion.
Chestnut had five minutes to eat as many hand-battered Raising Canes chicken fingers as he could. Keep in mind, one of most popular Raising Canes’ menu items, The Box Combo, contains four fingers. And most find themselves filled to the brim after finishing the box. But Chestnut… We already know he’s a next-level human.
With a crowd cheering him on, the champ consumed 44 chicken fingers total during his five minute time limit. Crazy, right?! Not for Chestnut. He was disappointed that he didn’t reach his goal of 50 fingers. According to CBS Sports, he plans to return to the famous chicken chain down the road to give it another shot. He hopes to beat his current record, which he will very likely achieve. I doubt anyone will swoop in and top the amazing finger figure he set.
It gets better…
I think the real kicker of this story is that 44 chicken fingers didn’t even fill the guy up. After the clock hit zero, Chestnut KEPT EATING. 44 fingers wasn’t enough to satisfy his craving for the delicious chicken tendies. UNREAL. Where do they all go?!
Nonetheless, his remarkable achievement has both made history and made me hungry. Suddenly, I have a dire craving for some Raising Canes. But then again, when am I not craving their chicken tenders and heavenly Cane’s sauce?

Best Spots For All-You-Can-Eat Korean Barbecue In Las Vegas
If you haven’t had Korean barbecue, we’re here to change your life.
What exactly is Korean barbecue you may ask? Let us tell you.
It’s decadent, filling and packed with delicious side dishes called banchan.
Korean barbecue is essentially a collective experience, according to SeriousEats.com. It requires teamwork among the table, and the portions are usually large.
The main event of this feast is, of course, the meat. Many Korean barbecue eateries have menus with different cuts of beef, pork, chicken and grilled vegetables. You can choose from brisket, marinated pork belly, ribeye and so much more!
The server will usually take your order, flick on your tabletop grill and come back pushing a cart of your selected meat. Depending on the restaurant you eat it (and your skill level of cooking), you will be doing the majority of the cooking! But if you’re a newbie to the world of Kbbq then have no fear. The servers and workers at Korean barbecue establishments are always happy to help and to teach.
As the meat caramelizes, chars and cooks on the grill, you can use lettuce wraps and rice to eat along the meat. And you simply can’t forget the dipping sauces that include sesame seed oil seasoned with salt and pepper, spicy soybean paste and other savory, umami-like sauces.
The side dishes, called banchan, are the perfect accompaniment to the hearty meat. Kimchi, pickled cucumbers, marinated soybeans, spinach salad, eggplants are just a few out of the many side dishes that are included in the meal. These side dishes vary depending on which restaurant you choose. However, banchan should always be served with a warm bowl of rice.
In Las Vegas, there are no shortages of great Korean barbecue spots you can eat at. And another great highlight of the Kbbq scene in Vegas, many places are “all you can eat!”
All-you-can-eat Korean barbecue places usually have a set price per person. This price allows you to order anything on the menu. However, there are usually time limits at these places and a fee if you leave a good amount of leftovers — so don’t over order!
Here are some of the best places in Las Vegas for Korean barbecue! Check out the list below.
