My son and I are mother-son, sister-brother, and best friends all piled into one. He is 14 years old and he is growing so so fast. So fast that the clothes that we got him for Christmas this year don't fit him already in July. I am lucky enough that the clothes and shoes that he has just grown out of fit me! Now that means shirts and shoes are now mine!!

There are a pair of shoes in particular that my sister got him. He wanted them so bad for Christmas. They are Yeezy slides. An expensive pair of slides but so comfortable and trendy. He loved them.. for the 6 months they fit him.

I put them on and fell in love and told him I wanted them for sure. He said he was going to sell them online. We looked it up and they were going used for $100. I told him I would pay $50. You know, the friends and family discount. We shook on it and went to bed. I woke up to a text from him requesting my payment. I told him I changed my mind and I didn't want them anymore. He said it wasn't in the contract that I had a 24-hour grace period.

Contract??

It was just a handshake!

I have learned quickly from our text line and Shawn that a handshake is most definitely a contract binding whatever it is you shook on. So I guess I owe my son $50. It's a win-win. I get new shoes and he won't have to ask me for money for a while. Can I pay him in payments? That was never figured out in the handshake!
