Busy Las Vegas Intersection Closing For Nearly A Week
EASTERN & CHARLESTON IS GOING TO SUCK FOR A BIT
It seems like you’ll never know where the state flower, the traffic cone, will rear its ugly head. Tomorrow night (Wednesday, August 24th), the intersection of Charleston and Eastern will be shut down for a whopping six days. Not down to one lane, not for certain hours. Shut down. Six days. They are working on a necessary storm drain project, which is no consolation if that’s your route. God speed.
THE RAIDERS ARE THRIVING IN LAS VEGAS
When the Raiders decided to pack up shop and leave Oakland, California for the sunny skies of Las Vegas, they weren’t doing so financially well compared to the rest of the league. Sure, they were worth $2,400,000,000 in 2017, before they announced their move to Las Vegas. Well, turns out Las Vegas has been good for the franchise. In their first year playing in the valley, a year affected by COVID-19, they were valued at $3,100,000,000. A nice fat improvement, but still low enough to be considered the second-to-last most valuable team in the National Football League.
In 2021, fans were back in stands and their value reached $3.4 Billion. But this year was a massive touchdown for the Silver & Black, now valued at $5.1 Billion, and among the league’s top 10 valued franchises. Vegas and sports… it’s like we knew this would happen all along.
