Health Benefits Of Coffee – National Coffee Day
Happy National Coffee Day
This is one of my favorite national holidays to celebrate right with national drink wine day (which is February 18th). I plan on celebrating today with a coffee from a local mom-and-pop coffee shop. Vegas low-key has so many amazing ones.
A study by Harvard reveals that drinking coffee may increase your lifespan. Researcher Walter Willett says: “In our study, we found people who drank three to five cups of coffee per day had about a 15 percent lower risk of premature mortality compared to
people who didn’t drink coffee.”
Well hell, I am going to live forever!
Even more than just energizing you, coffee is said to have a lot of health benefits. According to HealthLine the 9 top health benefits are:
- May be linked to a lower risk of diabetes -Regular coffee consumption may be linked to a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes over the long term.
- Could support brain health – Some research suggests that drinking coffee could help protect against Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and cognitive decline.
- Promotes weight management – Coffee could help support weight management and may be linked to decreased body fat. One study also found that people who consumed coffee were more likely to be physically active.
- Linked to lower risk of depression – Several studies have found that coffee could be linked to a lower risk of depression and may even be linked to a lower risk of death by suicide.
- Could protect against liver conditions – Coffee consumption could be linked to a decreased risk of death from chronic liver disease, along with other conditions, like liver scarring and liver cancer.
- Supports heart health – Some research shows that drinking coffee could be linked to a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, and heart failure.
- Could increase the longevity of your life span – Coffee could be associated with a lower risk of death, regardless of other factors, like age, weight status, or alcohol consumption. Still, more research is needed.
- Energizing – Coffee contains caffeine, a stimulant that has been shown to increase energy levels and decrease fatigue by altering levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain.
- Could enhance athletic performance – Coffee could improve physical performance and endurance when consumed before exercising. However, some studies have turned up mixed results.
- If I may add one it would be – makes me happy and helps me talk to people. 🙂
Enjoy your coffee today!
