Not-So-Fast Food: Chick-Fil-A Ranks Worst In Drive Thru Wait

If you’ve spent enough time in the drive-thru lane, you start to get a good gauge on which fast food restaurants have their act together, and which one will keep you trapped between two cars, a building and a curb for way longer than you’d prefer. You’ll often hear Chick-Fil-A regarded as a well oiled machine.

Well, according to a new report by Intouch Insight and QSR Magazine (QSR stands for “quick service restaurant”), Chick-Fil-A ranked as the restaurant with the slowest total drive-thru time.

Now wait a cluckin’ second! We’ve all been to Chick-Fil-A and seen their military-precision operation up close. Sure there are a lot of cars, but they are so efficient! Well, it’s complicated.

The longest wait…by a lot

Of the 10 brands ranked, Chick-Fil-A took the longest by a mile, and another chicken restaurant – KFC – took top marks.

  1. KFC – 5 minutes, 2 seconds
  2. Taco Bell – 5 minutes, 17 seconds
  3. Hardee’s – 5 minutes, 22 seconds
  4. Dunkin’ – 5 minutes, 28 seconds
  5. Carl’s Jr. – 5 minutes, 46 seconds
  6. Arby’s – 5 minutes, 56 seconds
  7. Burger King – 6 minutes, 2 seconds
  8. McDonald’s – 6 minutes, 50 seconds
  9. Wendy’s – 7 minutes, 10 seconds
  10. Chick-Fil-A – 8 minutes, 29 seconds

What does KFC know that Chick-Fil-A doesn’t?! Nearly 3 and a half minutes difference between them! It’s worth noting the “Fastest Total Time” category is one that Chick-Fil-A won the last couple years.

Wait, Chick-Fil-A is busier

Sure, if more people go to your restaurant you’re bound to wait longer. Driving up to a Chick-Fil-A without a line is like seeing a solar eclipse. Rare. Once you see how many cars are in line on average, it starts to make more sense.

  3. Wendy’s – 3.04 cars
  4. Arby’s – 2.55 cars
  5. Taco Bell – 2.49 cars

    Carl’s Jr & Hardee’s – 1.79 cars (ironic as they are owned by the same company)

Well DUH. Of course CFA is a longer wait. They’ve got more people waiting. Although again, that last category they won the last two years. Maybe it had something to do with the pandemic.

Chick-Fil-A redeemed

So now we know Chick-Fil-A is busier… so, lets see the math based on the wait by the cars in line.

  1. Chick-Fil-A – 1 minute, 47 seconds
  2. McDonald’s – 1 minute, 58 seconds
  3. Taco Bell – 2 minutes, 7 seconds
  4. Arby’s – 2 minutes, 19 seconds
  5. Dunkin’ – 2 minutes, 20 seconds
  6. Wendy’s – 2 minutes, 21 seconds
  7. Burger King – 2 minutes, 27 seconds
  8. KFC – 2 minutes, 32 seconds
  9. Hardee’s – 3 minutes
  10. Carl’s Jr. – 3 minutes, 13 seconds

WELL. It appears as though we’ve solved the mystery. Chick-Fil-A still brings the speed and should fix the Department of Motor Vehicles so we aren’t waiting all day.

Well, it’s not all good news

Inaccurate orders are another thing altogether. There, there is no excuse, CFA is beginning to drop the ball after years of being the most accurate.

  3. Carl’s Jr. – 86% accuracy
  4. Hardee’s – 85% accuracy
  5. Taco Bell – 84% accuracy

  7. Dunkin’ – 82% accuracy
  8. Wendy’s – 79% accuracy

Well, what did we learn today? We learned that Chick-Fil-A has been perhaps unfairly bashed in the media based on this recent study. We’ve also learned I eat too much fast food to be so emotionally invested in this.

Top Chef Driven Fast Food Restaurant In Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip is inundated with fast food, causal dining restaurants and little hole in the wall places to eats. Very similar to New York City, the Las Vegas Strip can be intimidating with all of the hustle and bustle.

While you’re on journey of exploration through Las Vegas Blvd stop by Top Round which can be found in the heart of Las Vegas. They are located at 3782 S Las Vegas Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89109 which Vegas locals may recognized as the former Bruxie Original Fried Chicken & Waffle Sandwich. “The Park” which is the outdoor dining commons can be found in between the Park MGM and T-Mobile Arena but on the same side of T-Mobile Arena.

The beef on weck hot spot started in Los Angeles, California back in June of 2013, serving up 100 percent pure ground beef. Five friends, Anthony, Fretz, Jamie, Noah and Saukok, who grew up in St. Louis and Buffalo eating real beef sandwiches wanting to keep the dream alive. Their success speaks for itself opening a second location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Las Vegas is the third Top Round fast food restaurant to open and we are ecstatic to see what the locals think about their iconic “cheese wizz.”

Their menu is expansive with a little something for everyone. Their house specialties features slow-roasted beef sandwiches, hand breaded chicken sandwiches, curly fries, tater tots and frozen custard. They haven’t forgotten their non meat eater customers with fresh salads and grilled cheese. Their websites states that their roast beef is “free of additives, fillers and preservatives.”

Their menu item “horse & hole” is presented as a sesame bottom bun face down, slow roasted ground beef, roasted mushrooms, provel cheese and horseradish cream enclosed with the top of the sesame bun. Most of their slow cooked roast beef sandwiches range from nine dollars to 15 dollars. Their all natural chicken breasts are “hand-breaded, marinated in buttermilk and pickle brine.” If you order a “crispy tenders box” comes with three big tenders, curly fries, pickles and comeback sauce that will pack a punch. The mega box comes in at a whopping $14.95.

If you like to get messy you want to check out their “Dirty Fries.” This popular menu item comes with curly fries with gravy, provel cheese, caramelized onions and round sauce. For $6.99, you can’t beat it!

Lastly, if you don’t order the ice cream custard did you really go to Top Round? They have plenty of concrete combinations like “Pretzel PB Crunch” which is Reese’s Pieces, Pretzels and Chocolate Syrup. They honestly put traditional fast food to shame.

    Eat Inside Of A Jungle In Las Vegas

    Las Vegas is the quintessential hub for all things luxury hotels and casinos. They set the standard for hospitality in the nation being one of the top in providing exceptional service.

    The Bellagio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is no exception to being one of the most extravagant hotel and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip with it’s Europe-village ambiance, upscale shopping and fine dining restaurants.

    The building was inspired from a small “city” in the province of Como which resides in northern-central part of Italy called Lombardy. Bellagio is located on Lake Como providing inspiration for the architecture.

    Walking in and around the Bellagio, one feels as if they have been transmitted into an Italian renaissance with the villa archways and beautiful gardens.

    Some of the most renowned restaurants in the U.S. are offered inside the Bellagio featuring Picasso, Spago and The Mayfair Supper Club.

    Another local favorite is Sadelle’s Café. If you’re not familiar with the hidden gem found in the back of the Bellagio atrium, let us introduce you. Sadelle’s is known for their American style breakfast, all-day brunch and tasty lunch. The Executive Chef, Julian Serrano, is known for making hungry tummy’s full with his American style plates. Found on Bellagio’s website, “I believe a good meal is best enjoyed with friends and family,” says Executive Chef Julian Serrano. Lucky guests may even be seated to look out at the beautiful Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

    We want to showcase three of Sadelle Cafe’s menu highlights including:

    • Sadelle’s Tower which features fish, bagel, tomato, cucumbers & capers
    • Eggs Benedict which features House of salmon or ham, poached eggs, and hollandaise
    • French Toast which features thick cut toast, with fruit and whipped cream

    Notable mentions include the chopped salad and the sticky buns.

    Have you dined at MICHAEL MINA Bellagio? They offer the most freshest, savory and innovative seafood dishes in Vegas. Executive Chef, Michael Mina, is so dedicated to his craft that they get their seafood flown in on a private plane daily. The award-winning restaurant features a fresh raw bar shellfish. Found on Bellagio’s website, “I want to give my guests a culinary journey that they didn’t know they wanted. And at the end of the meal, they are glad that they came and are already thinking about the next trip.”

    We also wanted to showcase three of MICHAEL MINA Bellagio’s menu highlights including:

    • Hamachi Provencal which features raw hamachi, chilled cucumber-serrano broth, harissa roasted cherry tomatoes and sauce vierge
    • Ahi Tuna tartare which features sushi grade Ahi Tuna, toasted pine nuts, Asian pear, habanero infused sesame oil and min
    • Charcoal-Grilled Hot Shellfish which features king crab, pacific & atlantic oysters, gulf prawns, maine lobster, driver scallops, yuzu kosho butter and miso

    Their is a new way to dine at the Italian inspired hotel and casino called the Conservatory Dining Experience. Up to six guests can now eat in the heart of the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at The Garden Table.

    The 14,000 square foot atrium showcases a theme during different seasons through out the year which will inspire a unique pre-fixe dining menu. Delicious food items will be provided by MICHAEL MINA Bellagio and Sadelle’s Café. The current theme is a dramatic jungle or the Jungle of Dreams Conservatory which is being showcased now through September 10.

    Brunch and dinner options are available for purchase. Brunch will be served by Sadelle’s Café where dinner will be served by MICHAEL MINA Bellagio. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. Get more details HERE.
