Huge $600 Million Renovation Planned for Las Vegas Convention Center
The Las Vegas Convention Center is getting a three-year, $600 million renovation to help it keep up with ever-growing standards.
If you’ve been by the LVCC lately and seen the new West Hall, wow! It looks fantastic. Not only is it modern and will help keep Las Vegas competitive against competition like Orlando. But, if you visit the South and Central Halls… wow. You know how if a bunch of ugly friends hang out together they don’t look so bad. But if you add an attractive person to the bunch, the rest look ragged? That’s our Convention Center right now.
The existing halls have served us well but they are in need of some love, and they are going to get it. The Oversight Panel for Clark County’s convention facilities gave the thumbs up to the more than half a billion dollar plan.
It costs money to make money
Before you say “hey, wait, we could use that money better”… not so fast. The Las Vegas Convention And Visitors Authority estimates that in 2019 alone, convention business had an economic impact of over $2.2 Billion. That’s a huge return on investment.
The project is expected to be completed by CES 2026 and will bring the rest of the convention center up to par with the gleaming West Hall. Visitors can expect updated technology, modernized meeting spaces, and improved overall aesthetics.
There’ll be rolling closures of South and Central Halls during the renovation to facilitate the glam up, so don’t be surprised to see some construction. But by the time it’s said and done, the place is going to look deserving of the city we call home. We are here for that.
