Every year, Halloween gives an opportunity to people to dress up in sexy versions of all sorts of professions. But this year, there's one group of professionals that is asking people to think twice before donning a sexy costume: nurses.
That's right, CBC News reports that the Professional Order of Nurses in Quebec, Canada is asking people not to dress like Sexy Nurses for Halloween. The president of the Order, Luc Mathieu, says that sexualizing nurse uniforms "perpetuates sexist and degrading stereotypes and fantasies about nurses' profession and expertise."
The president of the Quebec Nurses' Association, Natalie Stake-Doucet, echoed Mathieu's sentiments, saying that nurses are often subjected to lewd comments and assumptions about their character. "I've been a nurse for 12 years. I've seen pretty much everything you can think of," she said. "The things we've been subjected to from patients, friends, family... we often get stuff like, 'oh you're a nurse, that means you're a nymphomaniac' or something like that. But we're all educated and trained to take care of people in professional ways."
So this Halloween, if you were thinking about dressing up as a Sexy Nurse, think again.
Let's show some respect for the hardworking men and women who dedicate their lives to taking care of us when we're sick or injured.
Do you have your Halloween costume picked out yet? If you're like most people, you probably haven't given it too much thought. But if you have been thinking about it and you chose a Sexy Nurse this year, you might want to reconsider. After all, they've got enough to deal with without having to worry about people ogling them while they're trying to do their job!
Are you a nurse? Do people dressing like Sexy Nurses bother you?

Las Vegas Named Top 10 Halloween Destination
Las Vegas locals planning to spend Halloween in the Vegas Valley, CONGRATULATIONS! You will officially be spending October 31st in one of the "best cities for Halloween."
Finally, Las Vegas has found its way onto a GOOD list. According to a new survey by Wallethub, some cities reign supreme in the "spooky season" category, and Vegas has cracked the top 20 Halloween destinations. Woop woop!
The survey ranked the 100 largest U.S. cities based on 22 key metrics. Some of these included the number of Halloween parties that occur, the number of Halloween costume and party supply stores, the number of pumpkin patches, and the number of amusement parks in each individual city, and more. And the results were spook-tacular!
Vegas has truly ranked among the best of the best when it comes to the offerings of other cities. And are we shocked? Not at all. We already knew we were the life of the party. October in Sin City offers never ending fun!
But some of the additional cities that cracked the top 20 are a bit surprising to me. I will admit, some of the destinations I have not personally visited. Perhaps the lack of personal experience visiting these cities is the root of my disbelief. That said, the research has spoken! Sounds like I'll be needing to plan a few trips this spooky season to investigate for myself.
Las Vegas certainly earned its top spot, as the city placed highly among several subcategories. These include landing the #1 spot for having the "most costume stores per capita" and #1 for having the "most candy and chocolate stores per capita." I'm not shocked.
It's definitely worth noting that Las Vegas was not the only city in Nevada that made its mark on this survey. Henderson made it's name among the "crime rate" category, ranking #4 for the lowest crime rate. Yay for safety! Reno also tied for #2 in the "lowest average price per Halloween party ticket" subcategory. some of the subcategories that went into the overall survey. The city ranked #4 for the "lowest crime rate"
