When Meghan Trainor hit the scene in 2014 with the single "All About That Bass", she re-introduced the world to the sound that captivated the country years ago. Doo-wop! Her modern spin on a classic sound had the country hooked. Now Meghan Trainor is Takin' It Back with her newly released album of the same name. We are happy to report it doesn't stray from the vibe that made her famous.
Aimee+Shawn got a chance to chat with Meghan about the new album and an exciting year coming up. If you've never met her, you'll fall in love with her after this interview! A total class act, funny, personable and real.
They chatted about Meghan taking the entire family and entourage to Target to buy her new album. The video is hysterical and her dad is the cutest!
Meghan is a relatively new mom (baby Riley is a year old) and making this album was an "at home" affair. Recording in the basement in between playing with and feeding her little one.
Meghan is going down under!
If she thought recording the new album was making her life busy, she's about to travel with her whole family and crew to Australia! She is one of the judges on a new season of Australian Idol (yeah just like American Idol, but their records spin the other way). She's beyond excited to experience the country with her little one and have him experience his first beach on the Gold Coast of Australia!
Check out the video of Aimee+Shawn's interview with Meghan Trainor above, and make sure to listen to her new album Takin' It Back on your streaming app of choice, pick up her album at Target, or of course listen to her music right here on 102.7 VGS.

Leslie Jordan: Former Co-Stars and More Pay Tribute to Late Actor
Leslie Jordan was a beloved entertainer for decades. Following the news of his sudden death in a car accident, many peers and fans took to social media to honor him.
From co-stars to actors and everywhere in between, here are some notable tributes to Jordan.

my heart is breaking.
i really can’t believe it. leslie jordan was, hands down, one of the greats. people use that expression a lot, and i’m not sure it’s always applicable. there aren’t that many people who are truly great at anything. but leslie was flawlessly funny, a virtuoso of comedy. his timing, his delivery, all apparently effortless. you can’t get any better than that.
and what a friendly, fun-loving, dear person. i was just with him last month. the prestigious national book festival was showcasing leslie and his best-selling book in washington d.c., and he’d asked me to come interview him for his event. i’d done my prep, but it was all completely unnecessary, of course, as i just had to barely unleash him and he went off on a series of absolutely hilarious stories that had the very large audience in hysterics for a solid hour.
off-stage, he was so relaxed and happy, there with his best friend mike. he truly seemed so happy. how brilliant it was that millions of people were able to discover the real leslie and his love of life and unparalleled story-telling abilities on instagram. he had so much to share, and it meant so much to him that finally he’d found a vehicle through which to share it. he was absolutely unique. one of a kind. thank you to all of his fans! he really loved you all and was so genuinely appreciative of you.
i’m so so glad that i got to spend some time with leslie that day before and after the event, just us, catching up. i felt such a deep affection for him that day; he was so warm and present and darling. as we were leaving, i got a couple more big hugs and told him i loved him, as usual. so glad! what a gift!
and so. love you, leslie. miss you already. and one thing i know for sure… there will never ever be another you.

Oh dear dear Leslie, the whole world has dimmed.
The joy & delight you have brought into my life has been a beautiful gift.
I wish I had the words….
Fly with the angels, friend.
And sing, sing, sing."

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:’ The Hottest Looks From The Premiere
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had its world premiere last night (October 26) at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood and the only thing hotter than the reviews beginning to pour in is the purple carpet looks. New parents Rihanna and A$AP Rocky looked stunning in coordinated outfits, while cast members Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett and Lupita Nyong’o rocked jewel tones for the Wakandan royalty event.
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.
The long-awaited follow-up to Black Panther has been delayed by the pandemic and the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman (who played T’Challa/Black Panther) from colon cancer in 2020 after a private battle with the disease for over four years. Director Ryan Coogler spoke to Deadline about Boseman and said, “He was a giant of a man, the screen couldn’t contain him. To watch his movies is only to know a piece of him. We felt so fortunate to know the whole guy and we try and honor him on this one.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever releases in theaters on November 11 with a runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes, the sequel will be the second-longest title in the MCU behind Avengers: Endgame. See the hottest looks of the world premiere ranked below:
