(VIDEO) Starbucks Barista Melts Down Over His 8-Hour Workday
If you thought your job was tough, think again. Recently, a Starbucks barista named Kenny Webster went viral after posting a tearful video on Twitter about his stressful eight-hour workday. In the video, Kenny said that he is a student who works 25 hours per week and that baristas need a union. He has been met with mockery from some social media users who don’t believe that someone can’t handle standard work hours.
You know we dove into all the drama!
Is an 8-Hour Workday Too Much for a Starbucks Barista?
First, let’s get one thing straight: an 8-hour workday is not too much for anyone. In fact, it’s the standard workday for most full-time jobs. That being said, we can understand why Kenny might have found his shift to be particularly daunting. After all, he is also a full-time student!

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the average full-time college student takes between 12 and 18 credit hours per semester. That means that Kenny is likely taking at least four classes while also working 25 hours per week at Starbucks. That’s a lot for anyone to handle!
We can’t help but wonder if Kenny might be biting off more than he can chew by trying to juggle so many commitments at once. It’s possible that he simply doesn’t have enough time in the day to complete all of his tasks to the best of his ability. Fortunately, there are ways to cope with a heavy workload like Kenny’s.
For example, time management is key. There are lots of great apps and websites that can help you make the most of your time by keeping track of your commitments and scheduling your days in an efficient way. Additionally, it might be helpful for Kenny to talk to his professors about his situation and see if they would be willing to accommodate him by offering extra time for assignments or deadlines outside of class.
Of course, it’s also possible that Kenny is just looking for an excuse to quit his job at Starbucks. After all, not everyone is cut out for the fast-paced world of coffee making! If that’s the case, then we say more power to him—he should definitely find a job that better suits his needs and abilities. Life is too short to do anything else!
No I will not jump on the pity party for the Starbucks Barista.

Yes I understand customer service blows.
Still shouldn't be posting your mental collapse on the internet.
That's how you become a goddamn meme.
No matter what you think about Kenny Webster and his 8-hour workday meltdown, one thing is for sure: jobs are tough! If you’re struggling to make it through your own workday, remember that you’re not alone—we’ve all been there before. And if you’re really struggling, there are ways to get help. Just don’t quit your job… or go on a work rant on Twitter without exploring all your options!
