Is the Las Vegas Strip ready to rock? It better be! Hard Rock International got in front of the Nevada Gaming Control Board yesterday to show off their plans to transform The Mirage Resort and Casino and it looks pretty sick.
The renderings released yesterday show the existing Mirage hotel tower transformed from its current gold hue to a blueish tone.
Obviously the loss of the volcano in front of the property has been the topic of much debate. Many locals are clinging onto memories of the attraction brought to the strip by Vegas visionary Steve Wynn. While the volcano will go away, in its place will be a massive statement piece. A huge guitar shaped hotel - much like the one at its property in South Florida - will grace the Strip. Featuring hotel rooms with an incredible view down Las Vegas Boulevard, the "strings" of the guitar will shoot light into the night sky. It's really cool looking.
All told, the new property will feature an additional 600 rooms, and the casino floor will nearly double. Slot machines? There'll be double. Looking to play Blackjack or Three Card Poker? The number of table games are set to quadruple!
Hard Rock entered into an agreement with MGM Resorts to buy The Mirage for just over $1,000,000,000 in 2021, and now the property is in the final stages of getting the nod from the state. The Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended approval at yesterday's meeting and Hard Rock will be able to take over operations upon the approval of the Nevada Gaming Commission by the end of the year.
Owners insist they are making the transition as smooth as possible, and expect benefits to either stay the same or improve. Here's to yet another reinvention of the Strip!

Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants 2022; See Which Vegas Restaurant Ranks 99
Whether you call yourself a "foodie" or a person who just likes to eat... This is going to be of interest to you. We have waited with anticipation for the return of Yelp's 9th Annual Top 100 Restaurants 2022 article.
People from across the U.S. rated their go-to spots to grab a bite to eat and Yelp organized them into one list. No matter the circumstance people are still eating out and/or ordering in their favorite meals.
Three Nevada restaurants have ranked and let's be honest, we want to find out who they are.
Coming in at number eight, The Goodwich, located in the Arts District at 900 S Las Vegas Blvd, Unit 120, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. Fans have coined the quaint shop as one of the best places to grab a tasty sandwich and unwind. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients and their house made chips are a must-try. The prices tend to lean a little higher but the ingredients make up for it. If you're a fan of pickles their menu features a hot and spicy pickle. Definitely worth a try! The secret to their success is their "STACKED-RITE" method of layering their sandwiches. They started back in 2014 in the parking lot of Dino's, one of Las Vegas' oldest bars.
Recommended: G.W. Patty Melt: Ground Beef, smoked cream cheese, onion, pepper jack and marble rye - $14
Coming in at number 99, Dolce & Chianti, located at 4275 S Durango Dr, Unit 100, Las Vegas, NV 89147. This Italian restaurant serves great tasting food dishes that keep their customers coming back for more. If you're into pesto and seafood, you have to check out their Tagliatelle Con Pesto E Gamberoni. Regulars are obsessed with the atmosphere and ambiance that comes with dining in. The restaurant often has LIVE performances on the weekends. The Italian hotspot hosts a fun-filled Sunday Brunch, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which features "topless" and bottomless mimosas. The restaurant started out in Washington and we are happy they made the decision to open in the Entertainment Capital of The World.
Recommended: The Calamari Fritti: Crispy calamari served with spicy marinara sauce & wedge of lemon - $19
Not Las Vegas based but a Reno, Nevada restaurant, Food+Drink placed 12 on the list.
Congratulations to The Goodwich, Dolce & Chianti and Food+Drink for placing in the TOP 100 restaurants in the U.S. for 2022.
