Drive Your Car On LVMS Track For Charity

Join Las Vegas Motor Speedway as they kick off 2023 with our always-popular Laps for Charity benefiting the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. NASCAR fans and car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to drive the 1.5-mile superspeedway. Experience the thrill of a lifetime by driving your car, truck, motorcycle or another street-legal vehicle on the same track as your favorite NASCAR drivers! Proceeds from this event will help area children who are in need.

This is a great opportunity for a fun and unique experience while giving back to those in need in our community. So mark your calendars and get ready to hit the track for a good cause this Sunday!

What is Laps for Charity?
Laps for Charity is an annual event put on by Las Vegas Motor Speedway that allows people to drive their own cars around the speedway. It’s a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to get an up close and personal look at the track, and all proceeds go towards Speedway Children’s Charities, which helps children in need in the Las Vegas area.

When is it?
This year’s Laps for Charity event will be held on January 2nd, 2023.

How much does it cost?
The cost is $200 per person, which includes a souvenir photo and goody bag.

What do I need to bring?
All drivers must bring a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. You will also need to sign a waiver prior to driving.

Aimee Thomas is the morning show co-host of Aimee + Shawn on 102.7 VGS. She has been VGS since the birth of the station in 2022 and has been with Beasley Media Group for nine years doing mornings at various stations in the cluster. Before working in radio Aimee was a bartender at a local restaurant in Las Vegas when a local radio veteran thought she would be perfect in radio because of her crazy stories, knowledge of pop culture, and contagious laugh. Aimee loves writing about new recipes she creates in her kitchen, her favorite artists and actors, and being a mom of two boys.

Here’s What You Missed On Aimee+Shawn This Week

While it was the first full five day week for Aimee+Shawn, it flew by! Weird, isn’t it? Maybe a four day work week isn’t good after all.

The week got started with an interesting talk Shawn had with a friend from college. He was visiting town and telling him about a woman he had been talking to for a while. The more his friend talked the more red flags Shawn saw. Do you say something, or shut up?!

Aimee felt a bit attacked after asking for a straw at Starbucks. Simple enough request, but apparently the barista didn’t like when she did it.

Former Las Vegas Aces star Dearica Hamby came forward saying her recent trade was due to her pregnancy, not her play. That got Aimee+Shawn talking about the inequities of pregnancy and how sometimes even women can be tough on other women.

Aimee made her neighborhood smile recently. Sure, it was by falling on her face, but the commuters around her got a kick out of it.

Philadelphia is an interesting place. First they slather Crisco on light poles to avoid crazed Eagles fans from climbing them, now this. They are actually considering lifeguard applicants who can’t swim. For real. WHAT?

TikTok has another dumb trend, but it’s one we can get behind. Apparently there is a movement of women who are hunting for their next husband in the aisles of The Home Depot. Not only do we think it’s a good idea, Shawn has come up with a great name for the inevitable app!

Oh, and something about Aimee’s husband literally watching her die slowly. She recalls the story of when she was choking on something, but her husband didn’t jump in and help because of a technicality.
