Snow In Love: Valentine’s Day 2023 Makes Las Vegas History
Valentine’s Day 2023 – An unforgettable and historical Valentine’s Day in Las Vegas! On February 14, 2023, the city made history when snow began falling throughout several parts of the Las Vegas Valley.
Throughout the morning and early afternoon, several portions of the city reported snowfall. According to News 3, central portions of the valley, specifically Harry Reid International Airport, as well as parts of Summerlin and Centennial Hills, were able to enjoy a euphoric, Valentine’s Day snow dusting. Paiute Golf Resort was more fortunate, receiving nearly half an inch of snow.
This snowfall will go down in the Sin City history books, as February 14th, 2023 has been marked as the first time since records began in 1937 that snow has ever fallen on Valentine’s Day in Las Vegas. News 3 also reports that this Valentine’s snowfall only marks the 34th time it has snowed in February in Las Vegas (dating back to 1937).
While Las Vegas enjoyed the mild winter bliss, surrounding areas were more heavily impacted by the surge. Lee Canyon received approximately 4 inches of fresh, Valentine’s snow, while Brian Head Resort received a whopping 15 inches of snowfall.
Though temperatures in Las Vegas have since warmed up a bit following the holiday, don’t expect those freezing temperatures to go too far. Another surge of active weather is expected to hit around the end of the month. Keep those winter coats close by!
This Valentine’s Day was truly a special one for Las Vegas and will not soon be forgotten, especially by those who were able to cuddle up with their sweetheart while taking in the breathtaking views of the falling snow. The warmth of love and the chill of winter were both present on this unforgettable February 14th.
