Las Vegas, Southern California High-Speed Rail System Coming Soon
For years, the construction of a high-speed rail system connecting Las Vegas and Southern California has been in discussion. And now, this dream will soon be coming into our lives as a convenient reality.
Brightline West, the company that will be building the new rail system, has announced that they have reached an agreement with additional craft rail unions to get the project completed. According to Fox 5, “Brightline West and the High-Speed Rail Labor Coalition, which is comprised of 13 rail unions representing more than 160,000 workers, reached a memorandum of understanding prioritizing skilled labor while providing safe working conditions.”
The rail system will be built “within the Interstate 15 right-of-way,” and Brightline West has ensured that specific wildlife crossing points would be mapped out and included along the route of the train.
The deal reached between Brightline West and the High-Speed Rail Labor Coalition initiates a huge step in the process of converting the dream of a 218-mile rail system into reality. The construction of the high-speed rail system between Las Vegas and Southern California is projected to undoubtedly elevate the travel experience in the southwest portion of the United States to new heights.
Let’s face it – Hopping on an express train from Las Vegas to Los Angeles or vice versa will be as convenient as it gets. No more having to worry about traffic (thank goodness), finding parking, or the scary possibility of a car break-down in the middle of nowhere. All travelers will have to worry about is boarding a train capable of reaching speeds of 200 miles per hour, and enjoying the potential less than two-hour-long ride.
From convenience and affordability, to flexibility and ease of travel, there are plenty of reasons why this high-speed rail system between Las Vegas and Southern California will be one of the greatest projects the southwest will see in this decade. As for a projected completion date for the project, one has not yet been released.
