Gigi Hadid Makes Rare Comment About Co-Parenting With Ex Zayn Malik
Though Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are no longer a couple, they work together to co-parent their two-year-old daughter Khai. In a new interview with The Sunday Times, the supermodel shared how she schedules her work around their child.
Gigi, 27, schedules her work commitments around her daughter. She adds, “that she can be with both parents makes me very happy.”
As we previously reported, Hadid and the One Direction alum called it quits in October 2021. That was just over a year after welcoming their daughter. The news emerged amid a reported family dispute between Zayn and Gigi's mom, Yolanda Hadid. According to a police report filed in Pennsylvania Zayn allegedly “grabbed and shoved” Yolanda. This caused “mental anguish and physical pain.” (The couple are raising Khai in Pennsylvania.)
Zayn, 30, denied the allegations and pleaded no contest to four counts of harassment. Per court docs, he was put on probation and ordered to complete an anger management class. Gigi has not directly addressed the drama. But she has made it clear that she and the “Pillowtalk” singer are on good terms. She even gave him a shout-out on Father’s Day last year.
She shares advice for people who are co-parenting. “Just keeping the importance of the child’s happiness at the forefront. You have a long life alongside this person.” The Next In Fashion host adds of her daughter, “She has already given me so much. I always wanted to be a mom, but I was never obsessive about it or [thought that] I was put on this Earth to be a mom. I’ve always been quite organized, so having Khai at the time that I did was a blessing.”
Gigi Hadid and Queer Eye‘s Tan Frace star in Season 2 of Next In Fashion. The show is currently streaming on Netflix.
