Hello Kitty! Las Vegas Getting A Quick Visit From Her Cafe Truck
Well hello, kitty! If you’re a fan of the international phenomenon that is Hello Kitty, you’ll want to head towards Summerlin on Saturday!
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck puts its paws on Downtown Summerlin this Saturday, March 11th from 10am to 7pm in front of Macy’s (where you’ll see Santa usually). It’s part of a west coast tour that is swinging into the valley before heading south towards Arizona.
If it’s delicious, or it’s an item that has Hello Kitty’s adorable face with her super cute lil’ bow on it… it will be available. The food is as sweet as she is with plenty of cookies for purchase. There’ll be merch (click here for a sneak peak) from totes to t-shirts, you could set your kid (or you) up with a Hello Kitty Cafe lunchbox and thermos, and more.
The Cafe Truck (actually, there seem to be two of them, one on each coast) has been crisscrossing the country, spreading the absolutely purr-fect brand across the land. The truck has been around for almost a decade and the brand has been around for longer than that!
Hello Kitty is 48 years old at this point, premiering in Japan in 1975. Yeah, it’s been a while! It wasn’t until the mid 1990’s that she went from a fading star in Japan to an international phenomenon! Since then the world has lost their everloving minds for this sweet, London based kitty. Billions of dollars of Hello Kitty branded things have been scooped up yearly and it shows little signs of slowing down.
If you miss Saturday’s event, don’t fret. There are two permanent Hello Kitty Cafe locations on the Strip. You’ll find one at The Park Vegas between Park MGM and New York New York, and the other inside Fashion Show Mall beside Treasure Island.
