Jason Momoa Fans Accused Of Fetishizing Hawaiians Over Bare His Butt
Jason Momoa attends Los Angeles Premiere Of Netflix's "Slumberland" at AMC Century City 15 on November 09, 2022 in Century City, California.
Jason Momoa has exposed his buttocks on social media on several occasions now. The See star has gone viral each time when donning the malo, a traditional Hawaiian garment that leaves his behind bare.
The hunky actor has fans by the chokehold every time he posts such images, which started during an October fishing trip he shared on Instagram last year. He wore the garment again shortly after on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show. Momoa stripped down to his malo in front of the screaming audience members and even twerked his butt as he spun around. Even Kimmel started fanning himself.
When asked about his deep-sea fishing trip in his November appearance, Momoa said he wore the traditional clothing garment because he was preparing for his role for the AppleTV+ show, Chief of War. The series, which is about the unification and colonization of Hawaii in 1780-1790 from the indigenous point of view. Momoa will star in, write and executive produce the series. Per Variety, this will also mark the first time Momoa, who is of Hawaiian descent, has written for television. Momoa’s father, Joseph, is of native Hawaiian and Samoan descent, while his mother, Coni, has Pawnee ancestry.
Last week, the 43-year-old Aquaman actor posted a video to Instagram of some new merchandise. While wearing a light purple shirt and pointing down to his matching purple flip-flops, Momoa walks away. As he walks away, shrugging his shoulders he reveals that he is wearing a malo and his bare butt is exposed. As you can imagine, most of the comments are of women thirsting over the actor. Most joked that they didn’t notice the color of the shirt because they were fixated on his booty cheeks. However, some criticized the sexualization of Hawaiian culture.
One person wrote under the post, “The comments from western women on this post are hilarious when thinking about the outrage of objectification and sexualization of women in the feminist movement. Y’all worse than ‘show me bob please I want vajeen’ men online.”
Meanwhile, on Twitter, one person why do people have to sexualise jason momoa and post screenshots of his ass with weird captions when he's just wearing a literal indigenous hawaiian malo.... so weird

Commenting on Momoa’s fishing photos in October, one person tweeted: “I’m gonna say it: The hysteria over the Jason Momoa fishing pics is laced with racism. The hyper- and over-sexualization of Native Hawaiians, including Hawaiian men, are for real and harmful. The way some write-ups be like ‘I don’t know what he’s wearing, but I don’t care.’ Ugh.”
Jason Momoa Looking Scrumptious for the Past 20 Years
Jason Momoa has always been a sex symbol since his emergence in Hollywood. The Hawaiian native got his first big break at 20 years old as Jason Ioane on Baywatch: Hawaii (1999–2001), being much less buff, had no facial hair and rocked a short haircut.
In the next few years, he journeyed to the sci-fi realm portraying Ronon Dex on the Syfy series Stargate Atlantis (2005–2009). In this series, Momoa rocks a longer dreaded hairdo and dons a goatee with a beefier frame.
If you hadn’t been following the actor’s career yet, you sure did once you got a glimpse of him as Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones (2011–2012). As the warrior and loyal husband of Daenerys Targaryan, Momoa gained quite the fandom in his portrayal of the Dothraki chieftain. His most recent TV acting roles include his leading roles as Declan Harp on the historical drama series Frontier (2016–2018), and as the beloved Baba Voss on Apple TV+’s See (2019–2022).
As popular as his role as Khal Drogo was, Momoa is also commonly called upon by his DC character, Aquaman. He has played the role of Arthur Curry since the eponymous 2018 film and in its upcoming 2023 sequel. As we earlier reported, Momoa spilled the beans that Ben Affleck’s Batman will be appearing in the sequel. He’s also starred in the 2021 sci-fi flick Dune alongside an all-star cast consisting of Timothée Chamalet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin.
Momoa shares two kids, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha, 13, and Lola Iolani, 15, with his ex-wife, actress Lisa Bonet. The two began dating in 2005 after Momoa called off his engagement to Baywatch actress Simmone Jade Mackinnon. Momoa and Bonet married twelve years later in 2017 but announced their split in January 2022.
