Netflix Series We’d Love To See
Netflix is developing a series around “Man on Fire,” the Denzel Washington blockbuster from 2004. The eight episode series will tell the backstory of John Creasy, the character Denzel Washington played. Netflix does a great job creating series from movies, but there are still so many great films out there that deserve extra attention.
Here are just a few of the movies that I would love to see get the series treatment.
The Princess Bride – I mean COMMON! “Assssss Youuuuu Wishhhhh”, is what I want someone at Netflix to say when I ask them to make a series about the adventures of Buttercup, Westley, and Inigo Montoya! Seeing how these characters developed over time and seeing their relationships expand would be incredible! We could spend more time with Andre the Giant. See where he came from!
Jurassic Park – Classic Steven Spielberg. Now it’s already been adapted into a long-running franchise by Universal, but there’s still plenty of room to explore the characters. Or maybe the dinosaurs. Make them talk but not like… cartoon-like. A new TV series could include new characters and give us more insight into Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler’s adventures on the island before the movie picked up.
Indiana Jones – Of course, Harrison Ford is the only Indiana Jones and I would be cool if he played him in the series too! At any rate, it must make the list! A TV series about Indiana Jones could cover his college years, his time as an archaeologist at Marshall College, or even his life after Raiders of the Lost Ark—wherever you decide to set it! Let’s just make it happen.
Netflix has certainly made some great strides when it comes to adapting films into television shows, but there are still so many amazing stories that could be told! Who knows what they will come up with next but I am pumped for Man on Fire!
