‘Work With Purpose’ Event Hiring Las Vegas Residents For Local Nonprofits
An upcoming community hiring event called Work With Purpose will be interviewing prospective new employees on April 29, 2023.
Twelve local Las Vegas nonprofit organizations will be hiring candidates for their payroll. The event is hosted by Opportunity Village and sponsored by the CEO Exchange. The event will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Opportunity Village Oakey Campus.
The organizations hiring are well known in the Las Vegas community.
Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada will be on site. They provide food, shelter and comprehensive services for people in need. Some of their programs include Meals On Wheels, The Hands of Hope community food pantry, immigration services and a youth mentor program.
Goodwill of Southern Nevada is also participating in the event. Beyond employing Southern Nevadans in their thrift shop, the organization also trains individuals for meaningful career opportunities. They support thousands of people every year with their free services. Including job coaching and training in addition to job placement.
Habitat for Humanity is another organization hiring at the Work With Purpose hiring event. They advocate for affordable housing as part of a stable community. The organization provides home repair, home construction and disaster response services.
Also participating is HELP of Southern Nevada. They help individuals and families in Southern Nevada to overcome barriers and be more self-sufficient. Their services include workforce services, homeless response, adult housing programs, behavioral health services and more.
HopeLink of Southern Nevada will also be on site. Their mission is to change the lives for those who live below the poverty line. They offer rapid rehousing services as well as assistance with rent, mortgage and utilities. Other programs include a family resource center and career development.
Besides being the host of the Work With Purpose event, Opportunity Village will also be hiring on site. OV has been helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Las Vegas for almost 70 years. Their programs include pre-vocational services, arts and recreation and a job discovery program.
The Southern Nevada chapter of the Salvation Army will be on site interviewing candidates. Their programs include an adult rehabilitation center, disaster relief services and programs for the homeless and victims of human trafficking.
If your passion is helping people who have been impacted by sexual violence, bring your resume to the Signs of HOPE booth at the hiring event. Their core services focus on prevention, education, advocacy and counseling.
Sunrise Children’s Foundation is another organization hiring at this event. They are passionate about helping children achieve their greatest potential. They do this through programs that focus on infant and toddler health, classroom readiness and home visits.
Those who want to work with veterans can interview with the U.S. Vets organization at this event. They operate two residential facilities and a community support office in Las Vegas. Services include transitional and permanent housing, employment services and homeless prevention.
Vegas PBS will also be hiring. They provide educational content for public consumption. Programs include the Ready To Learn educational workshops for children and a Special Needs Resource Library for our community.
The final organization that will be hiring is the YMCA of Southern Nevada. Programs include youth sports and activities, teen programs and family engagement. They are currently hiring for their summer job positions. Those include camp counselors, lifeguards and front desk staff.
