How To Open A Bottle of Champagne The RightISH Way {VIDEO}
Champagne is the drink of celebration and occasions, but opening a bottle can be tricky. It’s easy to get carried away when popping the cork on a bottle of bubbly and end up with a sticky mess all over the floor. And honestly, that’s a party foul because any wasted champagne is an issue for me! So don’t worry! I’m here to help you open a bottle of champagne the correctISH way so that you can avoid any embarrassing moments next time your friends come over for celebratory drinks.
Before we cover the right way to OPEN champagne, let’s talk about what NOT to do:
- Don’t shake it! I don’t care what you’ve seen in the movies or in the locker rooms!
- Do NOT aim it at anyone. I’m not kidding that thing FLYS out of there like a bullet.
- Do not twist it too hard. You don’t want some of the cork falling into the bottle.
How to open a bottle of champagne the right way:
- Chill first – Before attempting to open your bottle, make sure it’s well chilled first; until they reach between 40-45 degrees.
- Place a towel/napkin over top (I forgot to use one in the video) of your bottle before uncorking; this helps contain any pieces of cork that may fly out.
- Grip firmly & twist slowly. Slow and steady wins the race! Slowly twist off its cork; you should hear a soft “kiss” sound once it’s fully opened and then just lift off gently from there!
Opening a bottle of bubbly can be intimidating for some people who maybe have never tried it before – but practice makes perfect. And you know what I’m going to say… there is always a reason to celebrate so always keep a bottle of champagne in your fridge. Cheers! Enjoy responsibly 😉
