Las Vegas Brides Beware! David’s Bridal Files For Bankruptcy

Your wedding is supposed to be your most perfect day, but inevitably something goes awry along the way. This? This is a big one. David's Bridal, a massive nationwide retailer of wedding dresses and other bridal accoutrements, has announced massive layoffs and bankruptcy.

The chain, which has two locations in the Las Vegas valley, warned a huge swath of employees on Friday that their jobs would be eliminated. Another round is expected later this summer with over 9,200 jobs in total set to be eliminated.

They say they are in the process of a sale, so the company may continue with a new corporate owner. That's good news for some, however for brides-to-be a lot hangs in the balance.

What happens to brides already in the process with David's Bridal?

Obviously the nightmare scenario at the top of every bride's mind is walking down the aisle without that dream dress they picked out months prior. David's Bridal is telling customers to rest assured they plan on living up to their orders. They told the New York Post "all stores are open to serve customers. Providing excellent service remains our focus and we are committed to serving and delivering for our brides and customers and being part of magical moments."

That's a better look than what Alfred Angelo did in 2017. That national bridal shop abruptly shuttered its doors in 2017 and left countless brides and bridesmaids dressless for the big day.

So what should you do? For now, the company says it is business as usual. But if you're a beautiful Las Vegas bride looking for a retailer, your efforts might be better aimed elsewhere while David's Bridal figures out their future.

Vegas’ Little White Wedding Chapel Sold, Celebrity Weddings Continue

You've heard about it. You've driven past it. You might have even gotten married in it!

The Little White Wedding Chapel located on Las Vegas Boulavard in downtown Las Vegas has been the choice location for thousands upon thousands of marriages for numerous decades. However, big changes are sure to come to the notable Vegas staple, as the chapel has been sold by the current owner, Charolette Richards, after more than 60 years at the venue.

Fox 5 reports that the new owner of the Little White Wedding Chapel is Vegas Weddings, and fortunately, "it will honor all current weddings reservations and retain its employees, staff and officiants." With more than 100 weddings a day filling the venue's schedule, it's no wonder they are keeping the venue and it's current flow as is.

At least no one is losing a job except for Richards, who has more than deserved her retirement. Her time and legacy with the wedding chapel is not completely finished though, as she will remain an “honorary minister" with the venue and continue to work when her retirement schedule allows. Fox 5 also reports that the new owners have shared that they will even continue to honor Richards by introducing “Charolette’s Way,” which will be the street name for the famous “Tunnel of Love.”

In the midst of the hundreds of weddings performed there daily, the Little White Wedding Chapel has seen some of the most notable celebrities of all time say their "I Do's." Spanning across numerous decades, several A-list celebrities have flocked to the downtown Las Vegas venue with their lovers to tie the knot.

Some of the marriages themselves might not have lasted, but the memories of those glorious ceremonies live on in photographs that line the walls of the nostalgic reception room inside of the chapel.

Celebrities and Fans React To Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Marriage

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married over the weekend in Las Vegas after previously being engaged 20 years ago before calling it quits.

Writing to her On The JLo newsletter, Lopez, 52, said, "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient."

She continued to say that their elopement was "exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world," adding that they only wished "for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage."

The Hollywood "It" couple kept their attire simple, with J-Lo wearing "a dress from an old movie" and Ben wearing "a jacket from Ben’s closet." Lopez said it was the "best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last."

Lopez said of their relationship, "When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another. We had that. And so much more. Best night of our lives. They were right when they said, 'all you need is love.' We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to. Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for."

The singer and actress signed the newsletter, "With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck."

News of the nuptials traveled fast, with celebrities and fans alike wishing the couple congratulations. Vanessa Hudgens told E! News of her Second Act co-star, "I was literally scrolling through Instagram and I saw that and I gasped."

On Instagram, Vanessa Bryant wished Lopez congratulations, while Hoda Kotb wrote, "Love is patient and right on time. Congrats my darling."

Fans congratulated the couple on getting hitched, while others sought this opportunity to troll the "Love Don't Cost A Thing" singer, who has famously been married several times and in many relationships. See their reactions below:
