Pop-Up Produce Stands Returning To Las Vegas, Dates Announced
The Southern Nevada Health District has announced that their pop-up produce stands will be returning to the Las Vegas Valley!
Through the end of 2023, Las Vegas will have the chance to visit six pop-up produce stands on specific dates. All SNHD pop-up produce stands will be set up at the Bonneville Transit Center, and the first of the six stands will set up shop on Tuesday, May 2nd from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or until produce runs out).
Plan to take your trip to the pop-up produce stand on the following dates:
- Tuesday, May 2nd
- Tuesday, June 6th
- Tuesday, September 5th
- Tuesday, October 3rd
- Tuesday, November 7th
- Tuesday, December 5th
According to News 3, “The stands provide increased access to affordable, locally grown, organic fresh fruits and vegetables, with customers able to use their SNAP/EBT card, as well as cash, debit, or credit cards.”
Food insecurity in the Las Vegas Valley is a situation that the Southern Nevada Health District is working to combat, and the pop-up produce stands are one action that will hopefully be able to make a difference in the lives and the diets of numerous individuals and families in the valley.
Locally grown produce has a higher nutrient content than produce that has to travel a long distance. This is because the longer produce sits after being picked, the more nutrients it loses. Not to mention, organic produce is free of any harmful chemicals or pesticides, which can be harmful when consumed in large quantities. Consuming organic and local produce is a great way to get more nutrients into your diet while avoiding any potential health risks.

390 pets were fostered
22,865 pet pantry meals were provided
226 dogs were adopted
