Strange Things That People Have Actually Married
Love knows no boundaries, and for some, this means marrying odd objects. Of course, the internet is quick to judge bizarre marriages. But honestly, love is love and comes in all forms… I guess. Take for instance Rosanna Ramos, a New Yorker who just married her AI boyfriend. She created her perfect man and married him. Can’t be mad at her for that. She says that he cuddles her at night and to that I ask… How? He isn’t real. Oddly though, that’s not the weirdest one.
The Eiffel Tower: In 2007, a woman from California married the Eiffel Tower. Erika La Tour Eiffel is a former soldier who has been in love with the tower for years. She changed her surname to “La Tour Eiffel” and held a commitment ceremony with the tower right here in Las Vegas.
A Pillow: A Korean man loved his pillow so much that he married it. He and his body pillow are smitten with each other. The ceremony went viral in 2010. Lee Jin-gyu fell in love with a custom-made dakimakura (Japanese body pillow) of a female anime character. He dressed it in a bridal gown and even gave it a name, Saori. Lee said that he was tired of human relationships and that his pillow would never betray him.
He loved himself so much that he married himself: In 2007, an American man named Davecat married a synthetic doll. However, his story is unique as he identifies as a “synthetisexual” and is in a relationship with two artificial dolls. Oh yea, and also, Davecat has also married himself in a self-uniting marriage ceremony, making him the spouse of himself and his two dolls.
Love is love folks <3
