‘Captain America 4’: See A Photo Of Harrison Ford + Anthony Mackie

The fourth Captain America film has been renamed. Originally titled Captain America: New World Order, it will now be called Captain America: Brave New World. Marvel Studios announced the title change on social media Tuesday (June 6) alongside a first-look photo of stars Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford on set. Marvel originally announced last July that the upcoming film will be released on May 3, 2024.

Mackie stars in the title role. Mackie, 44, first started in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Falcon, but he took on the Captain America shield in the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Evans left the MCU in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

As for Harrison Ford's involvement, the actor will make his MCU debut as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, taking over for the late William Hurt. Hurt died in March of 2022. Ross is now the President of the United States in Brave New World. Hurt’s Ross appeared in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and 2021’s Black Widow. Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson also star, reprising their roles of Betty Ross and Samuel Sterns from The Incredible Hulk, respectively. The supporting cast also includes Shira Haas and Danny Ramirez. Ramirez played Joaquin Torres in Falcon and the Winter Solider series. It is believed that he will take on the mantle of the Falcon in the new film.

During an interview with Esquire magazine last month, Ford shared what it was like shooting Brave New World on the film’s Atlanta set. “Uh, yeah,” Ford said when asked if he was having a good time. “I mean, there are tough days and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days. It’s a tough schedule and, yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not a walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work.”

What happened to Sam (The Falcon) Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Solider will continue the story.
