Get Ready For More Cones On Interstate 15 In Las Vegas
There are a few constants in this world. Death, taxes, and road construction throughout Las Vegas. Interstate 15 in particular is going to be busy over the next several weeks with road closures and lane restrictions. Some just lingering overnight, while others will annoy throughout entire “marathon work weekends”.
What parts of Interstate 15 in Las Vegas will be affected… and when?
LANE RESTRICTION: Friday, June 23rd at 8pm until Monday, June 26th at 5am
The first of several “marathon work” weekends, NDOT will have Northbound I-15 down to one lane between US 95 and Washington Ave while crews work on bridges.
ROAD CLOSURE: Monday, June 26th at 9pm until Tuesday, June 27th at 5am
This time, let’s close the whole thing down. Northbound I-15 will be shut down between Blue Diamond Road and the 215 Beltway. They are installing one of those digital traffic information signs over the road. Expect to be detoured onto Windmill onto Las Vegas Boulevard. You’ll be able to rejoin Interstate 15 at the 215 near Town Square.
LANE RESTRICTION: Friday, July 7th at 8pm until Monday, July 10th at 5am
Northbound! Southbound! You’ll all get reduced to 1 lane on Interstate 15 at Lake Mead Boulevard! Why? They are doing something. We don’t know.
LANE RESTRICTION: Friday, July 14th at 8pm until Monday, July 16th at 5am
The final edition of the most annoying marathon known to man. This time it is Interstate 15 Southbound getting reduced to one lane for a mile… this is the reverse of the June 23rd closure. From Washington Avenue to US 95, crews will continue work on the bridges.
Thankfully the kind people at the Nevada Department of Transportation are sparing us the pain of a closure on the extended July 4th weekend.
