LOVE To Hear It: The Mirage Extends Cirque’s Beatles Show
There is a lot going on at The Mirage Hotel & Casino lately. First of all, it’s not going to be The Mirage for long. MGM sold it to Hard Rock International and it will soon become Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Then there’s the fire-shooting volcano in the front of the property. The long-beloved feature will soon turn to dust and be replaced with a large, guitar-shaped hotel tower. Well, there have been questions about the property’s premiere entertainment, The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil.
Thankfully, we have some news you’ll love to hear.
The Mirage announces The Beatles: LOVE by Cirque du Soleil will continue
In a press release, the property announced that Hard Rock International is extending the show through “at least” 2024. Obviously, no show runs forever. But it seems like the musically themed show will be a good fit for the musically themed Hard Rock.
The production, which began back in 2006, features a stage with the audience in the round. There’s not a bad seat in the house and the show has been visited by the surviving members of The Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and their families.
While the show is outstanding, the soundtrack is just as good. Obviously it’s all “The Beatles”, but the master recordings were remixed into a re-imagined soundtrack that was heavily influenced by Sir George Henry Martin. Martin was there to produce many of The Beatles’ original albums and this soundtrack was his last production before his death in 2016.
If you haven’t seen the show, and you even remotely like The Beatles, it is a must see. The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil mostly performs twice nightly Tuesday through Saturday at 7pm and 9:30pm, with special performances around holidays (like Sunday, July 2nd for July 4th weekend).
