Who Is In Talks Of Doing The Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the most watched performances in the world, with millions tuning in every year to watch the biggest names in the music industry take the stage. The Daily Mirror recently claimed that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are in talks with the NFL about performing at the Super Bowl halftime show of next year’s Super Bowl right here in Las Vegas. Gaga performed at halftime of the Super Bowl in 2017, and Katy Perry performed at the Super Bowl in 2015.

If I have stood by one thing it’s that I wasn’t a fan of either of these performances.

I know, I know, this is a hot take as I know a lot of people loved these performances. But I wanted them to bring out surprise guests at least. The biggest thing people talked about or remembered from  Katy’s performance if that she had those sharks or whales on stage with her. The one thing people talk about with Lady Gaga’s performance is that she came down from the top of the stadium. I want to remember the performances, the songs, the power and goosebumps you get from their show. I want to watch it the next day, week,  and even month on YouTube to relive how much fun it was.

This is not to say I don’t like them as artists. I like their music I just don’t think that for a Super Bowl in Las Vegas has to be HUGE.

Vegas is a special place. We are known for doing things differently. I know Vegas isn’t the one putting the halftime show on but the league and the sponsors need to know that it has to be bigger and better than any halftime show we have seen.

Who would that be? Taylor Swift, Drake, Beyonce & JayZ. What are your thoughts? Who do you want to see take the stage this year at Allegiant Stadium?

Ranking My Top 15 Halftime Shows

Every year millions of people tune into the Super Bowl in February. Some of us tune in to the Super Bowl because we love football, there are those of us that watch the Super Bowl for the awesome snacks at your friend’s house or the ones that watch the big game for the halftime show!

The halftime show wasn’t always a huge production. In 1960, the first Super Bowl halftime show consisted of the Liberty Bell which was performed by the University of Arizona Symphonic Marching Band. The halftime show continued to feature marching bands for a few decades. Then, in the 90s they decided to bring in big acts in hopes to increase viewership and they sure did!

In 1991 they booked New Kids On The Block and the narrative started to change from there.

Michael Jackson took the big stage in 1993 and the rest is history. It is one of the most watched performances every year.

We have seen behind the scenes preparation from some artists as they get their performances together and rehearse for what is said to be the absolute biggest stage there is for a performer.

Biggest stage yes, but not a big payday for the performers. They actually don’t get paid at all to be there. The NFL does pay for their family and friends to be at the show but performers only get bragging rights and exposure to the most watched sporting event of the year every year. Last year 111.2 million people tuned in.

This year just announced that Rihanna will take the stage for the first time since 2019 and is rumored to be releasing new music for the first time since 2016

I’m here for it and am sure she is going to put on an amazing performance. Can she get in my top 15 halftime shows though?
