The Venetian And The Palazzo Las Vegas To Charge For Parking
Just when you thought we were making headway, here we are again. We have confirmed that The Venetian Resort and The Palazzo will begin to charge for parking in the near future. Super.
We were initially tipped off by our favorite Las Vegas rumor account on Twitter, @LasVegasLocally. Stated simply: “Free parking at Venetian/Palazzo ends August 15th”. The account added on Instagram “Blame The Sphere”.

Of course, we want to confirm, so we called The Venetian/Palazzo ourselves and confirmed that yes they will be charging for parking in the near future, however the date has yet to be determined.
Blame the Sphere? Is that why these Las Vegas casinos will start charging for parking?
Somehow we had a feeling that the big ball with the eyeball blinking at us will be up to no good. Yes, it seems like the added traffic that will be coming to the area is expected to stress the parking lots near Las Vegas Boulevard and Sands. The venue can hold up to 20,000, so parking lots are bound to get squeezed.
Will they charge locals?
At the end of the day, all that really matters is are they going to charge us. The locals. The people of the city. Remember, parking at casinos used to be free, then it was at least free for locals. Now Caesars and MGM allow for about 3 hours of free parking to those with a Nevada ID, and a couple holdouts (Wynn, TI, Sahara) still allow free parking on the Strip.
Well, we couldn’t confirm that much – details are pretty thin for now. When we do, we will be sure to update the article. We do know that locals tend to gravitate towards the free parking options. But it appears as if the Strip has run the numbers and realized… it’s not worth it. Although, The Strat turned that policy around for locals real quick.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
