Totally Lit! Vegas Vic Illuminated Again On Fremont Street
The “smoking” hot cowboy on Fremont Street Experience known as Vegas Vic had seen better days. The nearly 80-year-old sign at 25 East Fremont Street fell into a bit of disrepair, and out of favor with local laws requiring him to be illuminated.
But no more! Vic has once again been lit up according to the RJ, falling back into favor with the ordinance and with it’s surroundings. But when you think about all that Vegas Vic has been through, can you blame him?
Reasons why Vegas Vic had been dim lately…
When we see Vic, we don’t see a YESCO sign, we see a man. A once proud man. A man who defined cool, pointed people into The Pioneer Club and was featured in countless movies and television shows.
But as the years wore on, things got dim for Vic. The guy used to be able to see the sky, but Viva Vision on Fremont Street Experience has made sure that never happens again. Oh, he also used to have a working arm but that stopped moving. The place he worked for shut down. His girlfriend moved in with the rich guy that owns the Circa Las Vegas. He’s addicted to nicotine. Let’s face it – Vegas Vic has had a hell of a stretch of bad years.

In April, after seeing your comments about Vegas Vic not completely lighting up, our code enforcement team responded and worked with the business owner to bring the sign to city standards.

So yeah, Vic wasn’t lit up. So what, City of Las Vegas!? He needs to be illuminated from dusk to dawn?! Cut this man a break! He’s been through hell and back!
Now he is standing tall once again. After some tender love and care (and professional counseling), Vic is once again beaming. We hear he is still trying to kick the cigarettes, but one step at a time. Know this, Vic. All of Las Vegas loves you and we are glad you are back.
