Clark County Needs Crossing Guards – Have What It Takes?
Look to the left, then look to the right. Is the coast clear? Then you’re ready to apply for a crossing guard job with Clark County!
We all remember crossing guards being there when we were kids, but imagine if they weren’t there for yours? Scary right?! The roads in Southern Nevada are scary enough. Thankfully countless people give up a couple hours a day, for a little bit of pay, so your kids can learn and play without getting slayed.
What are the qualifications for crossing guards?
The expectations are pretty simple. Be over 18, be dependable, run your fingerprints to make sure you’re not a loon, and pass an agility and balance test. We’ve all seen that one maniac driving through a school zone a little faster than they should. A crossing guard should have their head on a swivel and be able to grab a kid’s backpack before they get mowed down.
The pay isn’t a ton. $16 an hour. But two hours a day, ten hours a week. That’s $160 a week. Do that for the month and it’s enough to pay for a couple bills!
