The fast food industry is always looking for new ways to keep its customers interested by constantly introducing new menu items. In that category, McDonald’s is stepping up with a treat that is surely going to be a fan favorite. Especially in my house. I feel like we have died and gone to heaven. On August 9th, Micky D’s is introducing the Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry. This new dessert is a mashup of vanilla soft serve, a crispy cereal mix, and chocolate peanut butter cookies, making it an irresistible delight (chef’s kiss). Hey, if this is what they had to replace the cinnamon roll, I’m all for it!
It is a combo of sweet and savory. The vanilla soft serve is complemented by the crispy cereal mix that adds a crunchy texture to the best creamy soft serve ice cream in the world. To take it up a notch, they have added chocolate peanut butter cookie pieces, adding a sweet and nutty flavor that lingers on the taste buds.
The Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry is going to be available nationwide on August 9th at all McDonald’s chains. It is a permanent addition to the menu, so you don’t have to worry about it being a limited-time offer. If you remember, the Butterfinger McFlurry was one of the original McFlurrys on the menu in 1997 and they haven’t had a peanut butter dessert since then! Remember all of the McFlurrys of our past. They had M&M, Rolo, and so many others that have come and gone. The one that has stayed since 1997 is the Oreo (which I say is the best).
Those were the days. They could super-size you then as well. Kids today will never understand.
