Yeezys May Be Canceled But Still Sells 4 Million Pair

If you are a sneakerhead. You already have a pair of Yeezys in your collection or you want a pair. Kanye West’s collaboration with Adidas seemed like a match made in heaven until Adidas cut ties with Kanye over his controversial and anti-Semitic remarks. But with that came Adidas being stuck with a stockpile of Yeezys.

They decided that they were going to try to move them. And maybe surprising to some, they sold a ton.  Adidas started selling off their Yeezy stockpile and it turned out to be a massive success. In their first sale after pulling the shoes from the market, Adidas received orders for four million pairs worth $562 million in one day according to Complex. It’s not just a win for Adidas, but for fans who thought they had missed their chance to own a pair of Yeezys.

So, what caused this sudden Yeezy comeback?

One theory is that Adidas created a sense of urgency by announcing that they were discontinuing Yeezys and this motivated a lot of people to buy and hoard as many pairs as possible. Another reason could be attributed to the reselling market. It has skyrocketed and motivated fans to buy as many pairs as possible to sell for a profit. Regardless of the reason, one thing has obviously been made clear… Yeezys have managed to maintain their popularity even after being taken off the market for a while.

Although the sales have been strong, Adidas, unfortunately, had to cut ties with Kanye West because of his statements, losing millions of dollars in the process. But seen with this sale, that decision hasn’t been detrimental to the brand. So if you are a sneakerhead and missed the last drop, keep an eye out because according to Complex, there is a rumor that there will be another round of Yeezes hitting Footlocker and online in August. Just in time for back-to-school shopping.

Wow, did a lot go down this week on Aimee+Shawn. Missing cash to the reopening of the 2Pac murder investigation. The death of a music icon to a new song that will certainly be forgotten. Plus why a doctor might “drop a dime” on Aimee and what the heck is a homing pigeon?!

Aimee was trying to do the right thing when she brought her boys to the doctor for a check-up. Sure, they were a little bit late since the last one, but better late than never! Except, that wasn’t the case. Aimee got dressed down about nearly everything she does with the boys. Now she’s worried she’s going to get a call from Child Protective Services.

Meanwhile, Shawn was just trying to have a fun adventure with his boys when he headed to Lee Canyon. But on the drive back, he noticed something laying in the street. When he swung around to investigate he saw a wallet. Loaded with cash, casino cards, but no legal ID. How would Shawn reunite its owner with the wallet? Simple. He’ll use the power of being an ultra-creep on the internet.

While Aimee has been getting up two hours before dawn all week, her friend has been in France. Not just in France, on the beach there. She’s texting humble brags to all of her friends, and Aimee has had it.

What landed in Shawn’s backyard? A frickin’ homing pigeon. What the heck is a homing pigeon anyways and why won’t it leave? Is it Shawn’s now? Should he name it?!
