Raising Cane’s Raising Funds For Maui Wildfire Recovery
It goes without saying that the reality on the ground on Maui and in Lahaina are devastating. Over 100 killed, billions of dollars in damage and a historic piece of Hawaiian culture vanished in an instant. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is living up to their “One Love” motto for one day.
On Thursday, August 17th, 15 percent of the profits at all of their restaurants in the Las Vegas area and nationwide will be donated to the Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers. That organization has been handed the immense task of housing the scores of people who lost everything in wildfires that tore through their town in a matter of seconds.
It’s worth noting that Ka Hale A Ke Ola suffered its own losses during the fire, losing one of their two shelters. Thankfully volunteers were able to jump into action and ensure their residents made it out safely. All but two of their residents have been accounted for, with the organization’s director confident the final two will be found okay.
How can I make my Raising Cane’s order give back to Maui recovery efforts?
Getting your meal and giving back is as simple as swinging through the drive thru or walking into any of their locations on Thursday, August 17th. 15 percent of the profits will automatically be directed towards the fundraising effort. No need to print anything. No need to say anything. Don’t need to download the app. Just order, enjoy and give back.
The scenes and reality on the ground are overwhelming. To see Lahaina, the former capital city of Hawaii, be leveled is a real gut punch.
For us on the “Ninth Island,” there is a desire to give back. Thankfully there are several ways to do so. To learn how you can help, check out our Maui recovery page.
