Vegas Golden Knights New TV Home Launches Today – Vegas 34
Gone are the days of having to pay for a pricey cable subscription to see the Vegas Golden Knights! No more paying for a bundle, and spending a bundle! As we told you ages ago, the Knights are headed to free, over the air TV! And you can watch them starting now on Vegas 34.
E.W. Scripps Company, the corporate daddy of 13 Action News, announced they got the rights to the Knights games earlier this year. There’s no cable subscription. No special package. Get some bunny ears and tune into 34.1. You’ll be watching the games in crystal clear HD – for free! Oh, and they’ll show Henderson Silver Knights games as well! Nice!
Wait, the Vegas Golden Knights TV station needs an antenna? Lame.
For whatever reason, a generation of television watchers have grown accustomed to having to pay for TV. Whether it is a cable service or streaming, paying up to watch is assumed at this point. But believe it or not “over the air” antenna TV isn’t just decent, it’s often clearer than you’d get on paid service!
A quick visit to AntennaWeb.org will show you what channels you’ll be able to receive over the air. You’ll find that you’re often able to get over 100 channels! That includes the main channels you’re accustomed to (NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX) and specialty subchannels that offer up game shows, reruns and foreign language programming.
Simply throw in your address and see what programming is available to you. Then buy yourself an HD antenna. You can get an indoor antenna that will be decent. You can also replace your old dish with an antenna and pick up a far stronger signal.
Then you’re done. No blackouts while DirecTV and 8 News Now squabble. No having to call and order a specific package at an eye-watering price. Just sit back and watch for free. It feels like stealing.
It will be on cable as well, if you’re a masochist.
But what if I want to stream the games?
Sure it is 2023, and streaming is necessary nowadays. Thankfully Scripps Sports has announced they will have a streaming service available for purchase. Of course there are ways around this (like adding this to this) but that’s another article for another day.
