Blink And You’ll See Them Again: Blink-182 Returning To Las Vegas
This past weekend’s When We Were Young festival had many elder emos turning out. While the concert is now behind us, Blink-182 wasted no time in planning their next Las Vegas dates.
The legendary pop-punk band is making its Vegas return as part of their One More Time tour on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 at T-Mobile Arena! Their date is one of many planned worldwide that will keep Mark, Tom and Travis busy throughout the year.
Blink-182 brings a new tour to support a new album
It has been a hot minute since the main three guys returned for new music. The band, which formed in 1992, had a bit of a break in the late 2000’s. Solo projects, time apart from each other and more got in the way. They reunited for 5 years beginning in 2009 but creative differences and a general distaste for one another got in the way and Tom DeLonge left the band in 2015, with his last performance being right here in Las Vegas in 2014, according to Rolling Stone.
While that didn’t stop Blink-182 from continuing with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba joining Mark and Travis for pretty decent music, something was missing.
Challenges brought the band back together
The band has seen their fair share of challenges and scares. Travis Barker’s plane crash. Mark Hoppus’ cancer diagnosis. It was the latter that seemed to reunite Tom with the rest of the guys. From that, a new album was birthed in One More Time. The album is a return to form for the band and is being generally applauded by fans and reviewers alike. Don’t let the title fool you though, this isn’t their last album (maybe). It’s more “trying this” one more time to see if they can get being a band right, once and for all.
We are here for it, and even though we just saw Blink, we are ready for another amazing performance from the boys next summer!
