Weathers Band Covers 21 Pilots Track At Paws In The Park 2023
The second annual Paws In The Park 2023 went off without a hitch. The line of animal lovers were lined up along the Desert Breeze Park black fence half hour till opening. As 9 a.m. struck sharp, excited dogs and owners dispersed amongst the grass to explore. Photos were being taken at THE702FIRM Photo Booth and dogs were splashing in the S’Barkling Clean Watering Hole. Animal contests brought to you by Pancho’s and Pup Pouch started around 10 a.m. We discovered Las Vegas’ cutest dog which was a tiny Pitbull with the brightest baby blue eyes named Eukie. He was indeed very cute.
Around 12:30 p.m., LA locals, Weathers opened the animal event on the Findley Chevy Stage with “I’m Not Okay” which is the leading track off of their 2018 album, ‘Kids In The Night’. This song tested the waters to see if animals lovers passed the vibe check. We can confirm, the vibe was passed.
Cameron Boyer, lead singer, said at mid point of performance, “We miss you guys, it’s been a minute. Some of you guys might know this song, if you do, feel free to sing it because I don’t wanna, I’m kidding.” The band played “Happy Pills” which made the audience go nuts. This is the second and most popular track off of their ‘Demo & Relics Vol. 2.’ EP. They played “One Of A Kind” which is the lead track off of their EP, ‘My Friends have Better Friends.’
Their angsty lyrics and pop-punk sound transcended us to early high school days when we used to look forward to Van’s Warped Tour. Hyped fans were gifted with a cover of “Heathens” a track written by Twenty One Pilot’s, Tyler Joseph, for ‘Suicide Squad: The Album.’ The cover was the cherry a top of an ice cream Sunday that we needed.
Weathers brought a nostalgia to Paws In The Park that felt familiar. We are happy to report as lovely tunes were playing for the masses over 50 dogs were adopted on Saturday, November 4. Many more dogs and cats were screened for foster homes. Home inspections are to come to help animals find their forever home.
