Stargaze At Annual ‘Dark Sky Festival’ Near Las Vegas
Looking up at the night sky has captivated humanity since the beginning of time. Whether you’re a seasoned astronomer or a curious newcomer, stargazing offers a unique and accessible gateway to understanding the universe around us. But where do you begin? Fortunately, the annual Dark Sky Festival is set to return in 2024 just outside of Las Vegas at Death Valley National Park!
Stargaze In The Perfect Setting
In order to have the best stargazing experience possible, your night must contain one specific characteristic: a dark sky. Light pollution is the enemy of stargazing. Escape the Las Vegas city lights and head to the dark, open area that is Death Valley National Park. Death Valley is just far enough outside of Las Vegas that it contains minimal artificial illumination, making this the perfect setting for stargazing and the Dark Sky Festival. In fact, according to the National Park Service, Death Valley has been designated as a Gold Tier Dark Sky Park, which is the highest rating of darkness possible.
