News Anchor Quits Morning Job, Goes ‘Office Space’ On Alarm Clock

If you’ve seen the legendary cult classic movie “Office Space,” you remember the scene. Peter, Samir and Michael Bolton take to an empty field to unleash on the office fax machine. The job they hate has led them to this moment where they give the fax the beatdown. It had it coming. Well, former WBZ news anchor Liam Martin decided to do the same. But instead of a fax machine, it was his alarm clock. Plus, instead of co-workers (all of whom are continuing to wake up early) it was his kids that joined him for the violence.

Why Did This News Anchor Give His Alarm Clock The ‘Office Space’ Beatdown?

Liam Martin was a well-liked news anchor for the morning show on Boston’s CBS affiliate. Growing up in the Boston area, he had always dreamt of working for the station. Working for the station for nine years, he worked his way up to anchoring “dayside”. But working morning television news can be a slog.

Liam explained in an interview with the Boston Herald that he loved working there, but the work-life balance needed fixing. In particular, he wanted more time with his kids. Pretty cool to set your dream aside for more time with the family.

So, when it came down to the first video to post after quitting his gig, he tapped his kids to take part.

Poor alarm had no chance. Dad and the kids created an almost frame-perfect recreation of the famed beatdown of an inanimate device. From the toss on the ground to not only the kicks but how the characters kicked. It is an absolute gem.
