Rise And Shine; The Power Of A Great Morning Routine
Rise and shine – or like my husband would say, “Rise and grind”. You wouldn’t think this to be true but the power of a great morning routine is amazing. I do the same thing every single morning from the way I put the toothpaste on my toothbrush (which is the ONLY way to do it). Wet brush, add toothpaste, wet again, brush. If you do it differently I question you.
Even if you are a morning person it’s annoying to hear your alarm in the mornings… sometimes. My routine starts right there with my alarm. I hit snooze every single morning. I don’t necessarily go back to sleep but I do lay in bed for those nine minutes and either scroll on Instagram, X, or TMZ. Then I check on everyone in the house including the dog to make sure they are there and sleeping quietly… including the dog.
I walk to the bathroom and do this order every single day in there:
- Go to the bathroom
- Brush teeth
- Shower (shampoo, conditioner, face, body)
- Face lotion
- Body lotion
- Hair
- Get dressed
If I didn’t do those things in that order I feel my entire day would be off. And that’s because morning routines are so very important because a morning routine can transform your groggy mornings into a time of productivity, positivity, and yes, a little bit of boss energy!
Think of your morning routine as the opening act to your big performance that is essentially your day! By having positive habits from the moment you wake up, you set the tone for the day ahead of you. It can really be anything. Enjoying a cup of coffee, reading a book, doing yoga, or even paying your bills. Anything that is going to get your mind and body going. Working wonders for your mood.
Here Are The Perfect Songs To Listen To For A Morning Routine On A Monday
If you tackle things early in the morning you set yourself up for success for the rest of the day. If you start early you will avoid playing catch up the rest of the afternoon. Getting up and getting your day going in a positive way is self-care. Self-care isn’t just for the weekends it’s definitely needed every day of the week. Maybe you want to meditate in the morning for even five minutes. It will help your mood, your mind, and your clarity for the day ahead.
How To Create The Perfect Morning Routine For You
Well, the beauty of it is that there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The power of a great morning routine will depend on your preferences, goals, and lifestyle. Maybe you’re an early bird who starts the day with a run or walk – some sort of physical activity, maybe you’re more of a night owl who prefers to ease into the day with a cup of coffee and some reading. Whatever you want to make of your routine is up to you! Morning routines can be your work of art so figure it out with trial and error and rise and shine!
