Huge New Family Fun Sports Facility Planned For West Henderson
A huge, new 180,000 square foot indoor sports facility has passed the first hurdle in the approval process in the City of Henderson. Final approval is set for the upcoming July 2nd City Council meeting.
Lots Of Family Fun Activities Planned For New Indoor Sports Facility
If you, or any member of your family, are into playing sports, then you’ll be excited to learn about this new indoor sports facility planned for West Henderson.
If approved, it will be a two-story, state-of-the-art, indoor sports facility. It will be named the West Henderson Fieldhouse. You’ll be able to find it on city-owned land at the southeast corner of St. Rose Parkway and Maryland Parkway. That’s right behind the Chicken-N-Pickle restaurant set to open later this year.
So, what fun things will you, your family, and your friends, be able to do at the proposed West Henderson Fieldhouse? Well, it’ll have basketball courts, of course. But those courts can be used for other activities such as volleyball or even pickleball.
According to the press release on CityofHenderson.com, there will also be artificial turf fields which can be used for indoor soccer, lacrosse, and football.
But wait, there’s more! You’ll be able to hold parties and events in the birthday party and community rooms the builders have planned for this new indoor sports facility.
Not to mention the fact that they’re hoping to also have other family fun activities available at the West Henderson Fieldhouse. How about going bowling while you’re there? Or your family might even be able to play some laser tag or miniature golf if all goes as planned.
How Much Will This Indoor Sports Facility Cost, And Who’s Paying For It?
The West Henderson Fieldhouse indoor sports facility is proposed as a public-private partnership. It’s expected to cost in the neighborhood of $70 million dollars by the time all the dust settles.
The City of Henderson press release states that this public-private partnership will provide “residents with additional recreational amenities throughout Henderson without burdening taxpayers with long-term financial impact.”
Plus, they’re proposing that all Henderson residents receive a 20% discount on fees when the indoor sports complex is operational.
Furthermore, the West Henderson Fieldhouse will be operated by KemperSports. Per the press release, they manage “more than 140 golf clubs, private clubs, sports venues, and destination resorts nationwide.”
