Jojo Siwa ‘Karma’ Breaks The Record For Most YouTube Dislikes
Jojo Siwa has broken the record for the most YouTube dislikes. It’s certainly not a record you want to hold, but she’s choosing to celebrate it anyway.
There are a lot of bad videos on YouTube. Some of them are amateur-made, and some of them are created by professionals. Some YouTube videos are so bad that people have made careers out of them! Rebecca Black’s “Friday” comes to mind. However, only one video can hold the record for most YouTube dislikes and that honor (currently) belongs to Jojo Siwa.
Jojo Siwa Breaks The Record For Most YouTube Dislikes
Jojo Siwa rose to fame at a young age, appearing on Lifetime’s hit show Dance Moms. Since then, she’s continued to be in the spotlight as a Nickelodeon star and internet personality. Now, she’s taking on singing. How’s it going? Well, as they say, “Bless your heart.”
According to Billboard, the music video for “Karma” had 3.1 million dislikes as of July 19th. The video has been endlessly mocked online and even poked fun at on Saturday Night Live. It might have been one of their best sketches in recent memory, honestly. It’s refreshing when the show is able to have its thumb on the pulse of pop culture like that. In the video, Siwa is rocking a very unique look that’s reminiscent of 2010 Lady Gaga. It’s a black and silver onesie and she’s got silver face paint like an homage to a gothic Ziggy Stardust.
What’s Going On With Jojo Siwa?
Not only is the music video getting criticized online, people are also saying that the song was lifted from another artist! A recording of the same track by artist Brit Smith went viral on TikTok, which then caused Smith to release her version of the song she recorded nearly a decade ago and it earned a higher rank on iTunes than Siwa’s, per Forbes. Ouch!
Jojo Siwa has been quite controversial online lately. She’s gone viral for ultra-suggestive performances on-stage, drinking, and a signature dance move. She’s done interviews comparing her current vibe to Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz era” and it makes sense, she’s trying to break away from her former innocent image like Miley was at that time. Will it work? Only time will tell.
It doesn’t seem like Jojo is too bothered by the new record as she shared a video on TikTok laughing it off and finding a way to turn it into a positive thing. See Jojo Siwa’s response on below. Bless her heart.
