The boxing legend Mike Tyson announced that he will step into the psychedelic industry with Mikeadelics, his all-in-one, at-home mushroom grow kit. In partnership with Carma HoldCo Inc. and Advanced Mycology, Mikeadelics will soon be available at smoke shops nationwide.

According to their website, the kit comes with millet, substrate, and water. The genetics are liquid cultures with very early-stage mycelium, which are illegal everywhere. There is no psilocybin in the liquid culture. However, many cities nationwide have decriminalized mycelium and psilocybin for medicinal purposes only. Basically, the doses are so small that they can legally be sold in some states. It's similar to how Delta-8 THC is derived from federally legal hemp and not actual cannabis.

“If the mushroom spores (or any other material) do not contain psilocybin or psilocin (or any other controlled substance or listed chemical), the material is considered not controlled” under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Drug & Chemical Evaluation Section Chief Terrence Boos, told Marijuana Moment.

Their website also says the product you grow might have different legal status depending on where you live. They sell their products for novelty and research, not for eating.

“Consuming the end product could result in psychedelic hallucinations and experiences,” they said.

Mike Tyson: From Cannabis To Mikeadelics Shrooms

“Mikeadelics represents a personal journey for me,” Tyson shared in a statement. “My interest in psychedelics has been well-documented, and I’m excited to offer a product that makes growing mushrooms accessible to everyone. This kit is a game-changer and makes the process simple and enjoyable.”

Tyson has long embraced the benefits of psychedelics and wants to make it easier for his fans to grow psilocybin shrooms at home. “Psychedelics changed my whole life,” Tyson shared with Maxim. “I wouldn’t be boxing now if it wasn’t for psychedelics.”

He also shared with the outlet he used magic mushrooms while training for his 2020 boxing exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. and hasn’t ruled out taking shrooms ahead of his upcoming fight with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Tyson recently experienced an ulcer flare-up, causing the Paul fight to be rescheduled for Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The former heavyweight boxing champion mentioned he would need to consult his doctor before consuming shrooms while preparing for Paul but said that he enjoys taking them before workouts.

Three years ago, Mike Tyson did an interview on the IMPAULSIVE SHOW with Logan Paul and said that magic mushrooms “saved his life.” While chatting with Logan Paul, Tyson -- who was already smoking a joint -- was handed the shrooms by IMPAULSIVE co-host, Mike Majlak. Tyson proceeded to swallow them all on camera.

In 2023, the legendary boxer’s TYSON 2.0 cannabis brand announced the opening of a new branded coffee shop in Amsterdam, Netherlands, which officially welcomed customers on March 24. This marks the company’s first European imprint.

“Amsterdam is a city with a deeply rich culture that has transformed it into one of the world’s premiere destinations with over 18 million tourists visiting every year,” said Adam Wilks, CEO of TYSON 2.0 in a statement.

“Coffeeshop TYSON 2.0 celebrates our journey and marks a significant milestone for the Company as we extend our international presence beyond North America into the burgeoning European market. We look forward to introducing the TYSON 2.0 brand and lifestyle to Amsterdam and servicing our European fans with the industry-leading products we’re known for.”
