ESPN has launched a series of marketing campaigns in anticipation of the 2024-25 college football season, coinciding with the expanded College Football Playoff and recent conference realignments. These campaigns will be featured across the SEC Network, ACC Network, and “SEC on ABC,” and include collaborations with well-known musicians like Luke Combs, Shaboozey, Quavo, and Lenny Kravitz.

ESPN states that these campaigns are designed to resonate with a broad audience while celebrating the traditions and rivalries that define college football.

“After listening to the collection of great artists like Luke Combs, Shaboozey, Quavo, and Lenny Kravitz within our marketing campaigns, how can you not be excited for the upcoming college football season?” said Curtis Friends, ESPN Vice President of Sports Marketing.

“Their music brings a fresh and dynamic sound to the promotion of the sport while reinforcing ESPN’s commitment to serve fans by celebrating the passion college football brings. Now we’re just waiting for kickoff!”

“SEC on ABC” features Quavo and Lenny Kravitz

As SEC football expands its presence on ABC, ESPN has launched the “How It’s Done” marketing campaign, featuring a collaboration between hip-hop artist Quavo and rock legend Lenny Kravitz. The campaign includes a powerful rendition of Kravitz’s hit “Fly Away,” reimagined with Quavo’s distinctive style.

SEC Network collaborates with Luke Combs

Meanwhile, as the season countdown continues, ESPN’s SEC Network has tapped country music star Luke Combs to belt out the network’s football anthem. Combs' cover of Tom Petty’s classic “Runnin’ Down a Dream” from the tribute album Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty is part of the campaign as well.

ACC Network partners with Shaboozey

Over on the ACC Network, ESPN is turning up the volume with Shaboozey, a multi-platinum artist straight out of Woodbridge, Virginia. His track “Last of My Kind” from the album “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going” is stepping up as the network’s brand anthem for the upcoming football season.

ESPN’s College Football Anthem by Jelly Roll

ESPN also announced that Jelly Roll’s “Get By” will be the official anthem for its 2024-25 college football coverage.

The 2024 season kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 24 with "Week Zero." Most Division I programs will begin their seasons the following week, starting on Saturday, Aug. 31 during Labor Day weekend. This season marks the 11th edition of the College Football Playoff, and the first in the 12-team format.
